We are looking for families with children under the age of 2 years old to come and join our Literacy and Math’s project we are delivering.
Raising Early Achievement in Literacy (REAL) and Raising Early Achievement in Mathematics (REAM) targets children from 0-2years old. REAL covers 4 strands which are oral language, early writing, books and environmental prints. REAM covers 3 strands books, songs and rhymes, everyday Maths and environmental Math’s.
These projects are free and will support children at an early stage. We will provide fun, educational and enjoyable activities within these sessions. The resources used will be resources that families will have at home for example making homemade play dough.
Families will also receive a pack and certificate for completing the project with us. The pack will contain useful information and activities and ideas for you to continue doing at home with your children. We will also provide leaflets around each session which will provide further information and ideas for you.

Bookstart sessions are offered to children within our pre-schools. Bookstart is a literacy and learning programme for children and is designed to encourage parents to share stories and rhymes with their children, especially those who, through lack of confidence and other reasons, find it difficult to read with their child/children.
Healthy happy tums is a 6 week programme delivered over 1 hour per week. It supports parents on developing their knowledge on healthy cooking at home and how this can be done without spending a large amount of money. Parents are encouraged to bring their children with them, however it can be done without the children present. On a weekly basis participants take home the product they have cooked and get a certificate at the end of the course for participation.
